“Take me to the ocean. Let me sail the open sea. To breathe the warm and salty air and dream of things to be.”
– Erica Billups
I sit here, bittersweetly, thinking of Erica Billups’s quote and how to properly describe 98 Red Hill Circle. It’s a special home for many reasons. The views will knock your socks off as the sun pours in and you rarely need to turn the lights on as you gaze out over Alcatraz and the San Francisco skyline. The weather will remind you why you are okay donating the majority of your money to Uncle Sam to live here. So why is it bittersweet? If you’ve made it this far and watched the video you’ll know this is a unique one for me as 98 Red Hill Circle is my mom’s house! She has started a new chapter in AZ living with some friends and building a new community for herself, but my brother and I miss her and miss this wonderful home…
Sentimentality aside, here is why I’ve loved this house and why I think you will too. The first thing you’ll notice when you open the front door is you can see all the way to San Francisco. 10+ foot sliders line the back wall and create the perfect indoor/outdoor lifestyle fitting for year-round weather in the 70s.
The open floor plan is highlighted by a recently renovated kitchen equipped with all the trimmings for the chef in your life. A 6 burner gas range, filtered water system, and more than enough cabinet space to hold everything kitchen related you’ve collected over the years including the 6 bottles of chili flakes or whatever spice you get bi-monthly, forget you have and then buy again or is that just me! The first floor half bath was specially painted by local artist, Caroline Lizarraga, for my mom and her love of cave paintings.
The top floor has all three bedrooms, two baths, and laundry space. Two bedrooms share a hall bath with a spa-like shower, skylight, and new vanity. The two bedrooms for kids or guests are spacious and wonderful, but the Primary Suite is saved for those who are writing the check! Sliding doors create the same indoor/outdoor flow and the view is even better as you’re a bit higher. Two walk-in closets, a mammoth bathroom with a private toilet stall, a soaking tub with jets, and a deluxe shower make it a pretty perfect little oasis.
As for the outdoor living Tiburon is known for, there are two decks off the living room and Primary Suite, a large patio in the front with a lemon tree, and a grill with a gas line attached to the house. Two car side-by-side parking with room for your SUPs, bikes, golf clubs, etc., and a one-way street with little traffic make RHC feel like a refuge from the busyness of the world. Pete, and your other neighbors, will say good morning, walk their dogs with you and pick up your paper when you’re away. If the idea of a home, a neighborhood, and a tight-knit community resonates with you come take a look. We’ve loved 98 RHC, we’ve been lucky to make our memories and my hope is she’ll be as good to you as she’s been to us (I’m talking about 98 Red Hill—sorry but my mom is all mine :))
You’ve got questions and we can’t wait to answer them.
